Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) is a secure version of File Transfer Protocol (FTP), which facilitates data access and data transfer over a Secure Shell (SSH) data stream. It is part of the SSH Protocol.
This help article is written using screenshots form FileZilla Version 3.33.0 on Windows 64 bit.
- Use Edit menu, Settings, select SFTP and Add key file. This tells Filezilla where it is on your computer.
- Use File menu, Site Manager and follow the setup in the image, the password is automatically filled in as in step 1 you told Filezilla where the file is.
- First time you’ll get this alert – don’t worry about it.
- Connected, go ahead and transfer data.
